Diri Engages Angola Governor on maritime collaboration, oil and gas development, cultural exchange

The Governor of Bayelsa state, Sen. Douye Diri yesterday, in a state’s bilateral engagement meeting, met with the Governor of Namibe state in Angola, Archer Mangueira and his two deputy Governors, Ema Samali Henriquesda silva and Abel do Rosário Kapitango.
According to the Bayelsa state helms man as sighted by Tarakirivoice, the meeting was bothered on exploring the opportunities of collaboration in the maritime sector, agricultural cooperation,oil and gas development as well as cultural exchanges.
Diri who was accompanied by some states top government officials, appreciated the Namibe Governor and all his cabinet members for the warm reception and for hosting him and his team to a state dinner at his residence where he was joined by two young Administrators (Local Government Chairmen) of Tômbua and Moçâmedes, Adilson Hache and Abelardo Lemba.
Read the statement in full “Yesterday, we opened a new chapter in our state’s bilateral engagements when I met with a Brother-Governor of Namibe State in Angola, Archer Mangueira alongside his Vice-Governors, Ema Samali Henriques da Silva and Abel do Rosário Kapitango.
The State of Namibe which has a similar coastal terrain with Bayelsa bordering the Atlantic Ocean, has developed its marine economy to a point that it has become the fishery hub of Angola and the southern African sub-region.
Our discussion focused on exploring the opportunities of collaboration in the maritime sector, agricultural cooperation, potentially oil and gas development as well as cultural exchanges.
Our meeting also noted the importance of African economic cooperation and for sub-national and national governments to explore opportunities in our continent and regions.
I do appreciate the Namibe Provincial Governor, for the warm reception and for hosting us to a state dinner at his residence where he was joined by the two young Administrators (Local Government Chairmen) of Tômbua and Moçâmedes, Adilson Hache and Abelardo Lemba.
