Don’t protest come let’s talk — Bayelsa Gov. Beg teachers

The Governor of Bayelsa state, Sen. Douye Diri has begged the Teachers in the Service of the Bayelsa State Post Primary Schools Board to refrain from embarking on any public procession.

The Forum of Affected Teachers in the Service of the Bayelsa State Post Primary Schools Board has planned public protest scheduled from Monday, 28th July, to Friday, 1st, August, 2025.

The state Government in a circular today sighted by Tarakirivoice, signed by Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai Hon. Commissioner for information, called on the affected teachers not to protest, rather, come to a meeting with the deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo to vent their anger at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Governor, Government House, Yenagoa by Monday, July 28th at 2pm.

“The attention of Bayelsa Government has been drawn to a planned public protest scheduled from Monday, 28th July, to Friday, 1st, August, 2025 by the Forum of Affected Teachers in the Service of the Bayelsa State Post Primary Schools Board”

“Government considers the planned public protest as unnecessary since the issues of concern by the teachers have already been addressed”.

“Moreover, there is concern that the protest could disrupt public peace and be hijacked for ulterior motives. Therefore, Government calls on the teachers to refrain from embarking on any public procession”

“In line with Government commitment to engagement, the leadership of the aggrieved teachers are hereby invited to a meeting with Deputy Governor, His Excellency Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo to vent their concern. The meeting details are as follows”
