The Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri has affirmed that before the expiration of his tenure in office, the ongoing Ekeremor -Agge road project in Ekeremor LGA of the State. will get to Ndoro and Peretorugbene.
Gov. Diri who inspected Ekeremor-Agge road project today, accompanied by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, ESV Moses Teibowei, Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, and Chairman of Ekeremor LGA, Hon. Isaac Onniye
He stated that the target is for the first phase of the road project to hit Ndoro and Peretorugbene before the end of his administration.
The governor said the project work is encouraging, but urged the contractors to expedite action.
“My initial concept was to first of all inaugurate the Sagbama-Ekeremor axis that has been completed. Thereafter, partner with the federal government to ensure that we take the road further down to Agge.
But unfortunately, we have not been able to inaugurate the Sagbama-Ekeremor axis we inherited from the previous administration and completed. And we thought that rather than waiting, we should start something.
Our first phase target is to take the road to Ndoro and Peretorugbene. If we are able to achieve that in the remaining life of our administration, we are very sure whoever that is coming next will complete the rest for us.
With what we are seeing so far, it’s encouraging. But we direct the Ministry of Works and companies handling the projects to expedite further action to ensure our timelines are met”, Gov. Diri stated.
