Elon Musk Urges 227million Followers To Cancel Netflix Subscription For “Pushing Transgender Propaganda”

Billionaire tech mogul, Elon Musk, has sparked fresh controversy after urging his 227million social media followers to cancel their Netflix subscriptions, accusing the streaming platform of pushing what he described as “transgender propaganda.”
Musk, in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), which he owns, amplified a conservative campaign initiated by far-right account Libs of TikTok.
The group had targeted Netflix over its animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park and the company’s diversity policies, accusing the streaming service of indoctrination.
Quoting the post, Musk bluntly declared: “Cancel Netflix.”
In another post, he doubled down, saying: “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.”
The backlash intensified after conservatives dug up old social media posts by the show’s creator, Hamish Steele, who allegedly made distasteful remarks about the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk in September.
Although Steele dismissed the outrage as “lies and slander” in a now-deleted Bluesky post, the storm has continued to gather momentum online.
The controversy has also rattled Wall Street. Netflix shares fell by two percent on Wednesday and slid further by another two percent on Thursday, wiping billions off its market value.
Musk’s attack carries a personal edge. In 2022, his eldest daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, publicly transitioned and legally changed her name, severing ties with him.
Musk has since claimed that his child was “killed” by what he calls the “woke mind virus” taught in elite Californian schools.
The world’s richest man has increasingly positioned himself at the forefront of America’s cultural wars, frequently using his massive online reach to amplify conservative talking points against what he brands as “woke ideology.”
