INEC Extends PVC Collection in Anambra to November 2

By Passman Akpos

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension of the ongoing collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State to November 2, 2025.

According to a statement released by the Commission, the decision aims to provide more time for eligible voters who have yet to collect their PVCs to do so ahead of upcoming electoral activities in the state.

INEC emphasized that the extension demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that no eligible voter is disenfranchised due to time constraints or logistical challenges.

“The Commission wishes to inform the public, especially registered voters in Anambra State, that the period for collection of Permanent Voter Cards has been extended to November 2, 2025,” the statement read in part. “This extension is to enable all eligible voters who are yet to collect their PVCs to take advantage of the additional days.”

Residents were urged to visit their respective INEC Local Government Area offices and designated collection centres between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, including weekends, to obtain their cards.

Political analysts have welcomed the move, noting that increased voter participation begins with easy access to PVCs. Civil society groups have also encouraged citizens to make good use of the extension period, stressing that the voter card remains the only valid means of participating in elections.

INEC concluded by reaffirming its readiness to conduct credible and inclusive elections across the country, assuring that all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth process.
