Pyongyang — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has visited the 11th Corps of the Korean People’s Army, where he emphasized the importance of strengthening the country’s military power, according to a report by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Sunday.
During the visit, Kim reportedly addressed senior military officers and troops, commending their “unwavering loyalty and combat readiness” while reaffirming the central role of the armed forces in defending the nation’s sovereignty. He stated that the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea would soon “discuss and adopt crucial measures to enhance the country’s military capabilities.”
KCNA did not provide specific details about the measures under consideration, but Kim’s comments come amid growing regional tensions and increased military activity on the Korean Peninsula. Analysts believe the North Korean leader’s remarks may signal upcoming developments in weapons modernization or strategic defense initiatives.
Kim’s visit to the 11th Corps marks his latest engagement with the country’s armed forces in recent weeks, as state media continues to project a message of vigilance and preparedness in response to what Pyongyang describes as “escalating external threats.”
