Lawyer Alleges Denial of Access to Client, Omoyele Sowore, at FCT Police Command

Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has alleged that he was denied access to his client, Omoyele Sowore, at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in Abuja.
Adeyanju made the disclosure on his verified Facebook page on Thursday , claiming that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) refused to allow him see Sowore, who is reportedly in police custody.
“I have been denied access to my client, Omoyele Sowore, at the FCT command by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID,” Adeyanju said.
As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding Sowore’s detention remain unclear. The police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the allegations.
Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and publisher of the online news platform Sahara Reporters, is known for his activism and frequent criticism of government policies. He has previously faced several arrests linked to his political activities and public demonstrations.
Efforts to reach the FCT Police Command for comments were unsuccessful, as calls and messages to the command’s spokesperson went unanswered.
