Nengi James Reacts to Fubara–Wike Clash: “When Junior Police Officers Sprayed Water on Gov Fubara, You All Stayed Silent — Nature Has Its Way of Revenge”

By Passman Akpos

Human rights activist and environmental advocate, Comrade Nengi James, has weighed in on the renewed tension between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, describing recent developments as “a natural cycle of revenge.”

In a post shared on Thursday, James referred to the public altercation involving junior-ranking police officers and Governor Fubara during a confrontation in Port Harcourt last year, where officers allegedly used water cannons to disperse the governor and his supporters.

“When junior-ranking police officers sprayed water on an elected Governor, SIM Fubara, you all said nothing. There’s a way nature’s revenge cycle works,” James stated, making reference to the recent clash between Wike and naval officers in Abuja.

The activist’s comments come amid viral reports of an altercation between Minister Nyesom Wike and military personnel during a traffic incident in the Federal Capital Territory — an event that has sparked widespread reactions online.

Observers have interpreted James’s remarks as a subtle critique of Wike’s alleged political high-handedness and his past role in the Rivers State political crisis.

The comment has since generated discussions across social media, with many Nigerians drawing parallels between past and present incidents involving the two political figures.
