Nigerian Air Force Jet declared missing while in operation

A Nigeria Air force (NAF) Alpha jet has lost contact with radar in Borno State, while on an interdiction mission in support of ground troops.
In a statement by Edward Gagkwet Air commodore, didector of public Relations and Information Air Force, state that, the mission was part of the ongoing counter insurgency operations in the north East.
Gabkwet disclosed that the lost of radar contact occurred about 5:08pm on 31 march 2021.
Details of the where about of the aircraft or likely cause of contact loss are still sketchy but will be relayed to the general public as soon as they become clear. “Meanwhile search and rescue effort are ongoing” he said
This is coming since weeks after a Nigerian Airforce (NAF20) B350 aircraft which departed Abuja at 10:33 UTC with seven person on board including 2 crew crashed.
The NAF spokesman, however, did not disclose the number of officers onboard the yet-to-be-found jet.
