The publisher/Founder of Tarakirivoice Voice Newspaper, A social and political Activist, Passman Akpos has affirmed the resounding momentum of the Administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme, Chief Dennis Brutus Otuaro PhD, declared that, anyone criticizing Otuaro is only giving him a free promotion.
According to the media guru, in a statement made available to Tarakirivoice, “As a person, I always want to stand for the truth, I will make sure I correct who so ever holds public office, if the person is going in the wrong direction, I don’t praise people to gain favor or criticize people to blackmail them in the eyes of the Public”
” Otuaro as a person and as the Administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme, is trying, and his working day and night to make sure delegates are satisfied”
“Recently I saw in a publication that some group of persons have written a petition to the president, Ahmed Bola Tinubu and NSA,Nuhu Ribadu, calling the suspension of Otuaro, according to them, Otuaro has leaked a classified information to the public”
“The question that will come to mind is, what is termed as a classified information? ” According to wiki (Classified information is material that a government body deems to be sensitive information that must be protected. Access is restricted by law or regulation to particular groups of people with the necessary security clearance with a need to know. the release of such information can or will cause a national damage)”
“According to the United States classification of informations system, classified informations are categories in three places, these include;Top Secret, Secret, and Confidential”
“1) “Top Secret” shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security.
(2) “Secret” shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause serious damage to the national security.
(3) “Confidential” shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause damage to the national security”
“With the passage of time, much classified information can become less sensitive, and may be declassified and made public. Since the late twentieth century there has been freedom of information legislation in some countries, Nigeria inclusive, whereby the public is deemed to have the right to all information that is not considered to be damaging if released. Sometimes documents are released with information still considered confidential,obscured”
“The event that happened in 2010 about the assassination of Goodluck Jonathan, is a long time ago, and I believe such documents does not posit a pending danger to national security, even at that, if is true, that such is a grave danger to national security, the DSS and other state Actors, are in the best place to alert the government of the day, not some disgruntled group of persons who are bent on assassinating characters”
Passman Further reiterated that, ” The said petitioners also accused Otuaro of favouritism, that his working on sending youths from Gbaramatu to outside countries with a scholarship over 50million naira for each delegate”
According to the CEO”who will not favour his own people, when accupieing a good office, even president of nations appoints their kins men when in power, Otuaro doing that is not a crime and his not the first person to do that”
“We understand that the Amnesty Programme is meant for the whole Niger-Delta, but remember, Gbaramatu played a very big role in the proclamation of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, and right from the inception of the Programme, this is the first time a son from that part of the region is occupieing as an Administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme. so that should not be a crime that should be use for his suspension”
” At this point in time constructive criticism is allowed to guide Otuaro on the right path, not the pulled down syndrome that is in the minds of some wicked people “
“I Advise the Ijaws to give the Amnesty Boss some ample time to carry on with his policies”
