Diri presents 2024 budget proposal of N480.9 Billion to Bayelsa Assembly

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has presented the 2024 Appropriation bill of Four Hundred and Eighty Billion, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Three Million, Six Hundred and Thirty-Two Thousand, Three Hundred and Sixty-Nine Naira(N480,993,632,369.00 only), to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
The 2024 budget proposal is christened, “Budget of Sustainable and Shared Prosperity.”
The governor in his budget presentation speech assured that, “I will endeavour to ensure strict discipline, transparency, and due process in the implementation of the 2024 budget.
“In this regard, the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning is empowered to regularly analyse, monitor and evaluate the budget performance against the various government policies, programmes and projects, in keeping with the priorities and goals of our prosperity agenda,” Governor Diri said.
Diri also appreciated Bayelsans for their peaceful disposition before and during the recent Governorship election.
He admonished Bayelsans to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, brotherhood and unity stating that peace is the only pathway to economic growth and development.
Governor Diri assured that the administration would in 2024 focus on tourism development and encouraging our people to own their businesses.
