Pipeline Contract is not Your Family Business- Ex-militants told Joshua Maciver

Yenagoa- Aggrieved Ex-militants throw a tantrum on Gen. JOSHUA MACIVER, the coordinator of the pipeline Contract of the Bayelsa State axis.

In a letter addressed to all the security agents in Bayelsa State, signed by both the Executive members of phase 1 and phase 2 of the coalition of Niger-Delta Ex-agitators, of which includes; Ebite Ifiemi phase 1 Chairman, Paul Johnson phase 2 Chairman, Chief Ebimobowei Apangolo phase 1 secretary and Passman Akpos, Phase 2 secretary, that was made available to Tarakirivoice.

The Ex-agitators accused Joshua Maciver of using the pipeline Contract awarded to Tompolo by the federal government as a family business.Stressing that, the coordinator of the Bayelsa axis, is using the contract as family business, making his girlfriends and Cult boys as Coordinators while sidelining the Ex-agitators.

The letter reads in part, “We write to inform you about the growing tention in the Niger-Delta, in respect of the surveillance contract awarded to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo.

This is to officially register our displeasure as coalition of Niger-Delta Ex-agitators, with the manner and ways the contract is been handled.

Frankly speaking, prior to the establishment of the Presidential Amnesty program, technical Committee were formed to mapped out ways the program should be run, that will restore peace in the Niger-Delta which will inturn increase the production of crude oil and the ease of doing business by the multi-national companies in the region.

Part of the deal between Niger-Delta militants and the Nigeria government under the Late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in 2009 was to be giving pipeline protection job to the Ex-agitators ( militants).

Today the Survillance Contract was awarded to Tompolo, base on the fact that, he was the leader of the Movement for Emancipation of Niger-Delta (MEND).

Instead of engaging the Ex-militants and stakeholders, they have turned it to a family business.

The coordinator of the Bayelsa State axis, in the person of Joshua MACIVER has refused to engage the Ex-militants, rather he deals with cult groups and girlfriends in the state, using them as coordinators, sidelining the Ex-agitators who should be the direct beneficiaries of the contract.

As Coalition of Niger-Delta Ex-agitators we have approached, Joshua MACIVER, respectfully and peacefully, severally, to found out ways we could be part of the contract but to all no avail.

The interest of the security agents in the region is to make sure peace reigns.

This act of Joshua MACIVER in sidelining the Ex-militants, and using the contract as his own family business will never mean well for the peace of the Niger-Delta.

As Coalition of Ex-agitators, we see Joshua MACIVER and his Cult boys as one individual, but we, the Coalition of Ex-agitators are a multi-force that our actions and inaction can turn the region into imbalance within seconds.

We call on the Security Agents to swing into action and call Joshua MACIVER to order.

As peace loving citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, we don’t want to heat up the relative peace in the Niger-Delta and the same time, we will not fold our hands for an individual to encroached on our right” they stated.
