Bilabiri Killing: EKEGA Federated Youths Council condemns action,call for conflicting parties to shed sword

The Ekelga Federated Youths Council (EFYC) worldwide condemned the recent blood-soaked warfare that claimed lives in Bilabiri community in Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa state.
In a statement signed by its President, Comr. Bar. Richard B. Lawyer, appealed to the conflicting parties to enclose their swords, stating that, it is unhealthy for citizens of the local government area to draw swords against each other no matter the provocation.
Richard reiterated that, these attacks against each other are utterly reprehensible, in his word, “they are not only putting the lives of residence and travelers at risk, but a threat to our development, and the lives of thousands of youths who rely on businesses around the local government area for their survival. For us to continue to provide life-saving relief to the civilians suffering immensely across the local government, the safety and security of her citizens must be upheld, the impunity that has prevailed to date must end, and perpetrators must be held accountable”.
The Comrade further call on those in positions of power to step up to their responsibilities, noting that, they are ultimately accountable for what happens under their watch.
The Youth President asserted that bloodshed has never been a solution to ameliorate communal crisis. He call on Government and all security agencies, the various community youth bodies, CDC executives, Council of Chiefs, and every other conflicting parties to a round table discussion to have a lasting solution to end crisis and bloodshed.
