Nigeria National League side, Heartland, were involved in a road accident on Friday, according to a report by PNO Sports.
The players and officials of the team were on their way to Abakaliki for the Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre Season Tournament.
The accident occured at Umunna, close to Okigwe in Imo state.
The driver in an attempt to dodge an oncoming vehicle rain into another parked vehicle on the road.
Though no death was recorded, some players and officials sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The incident may derail the team’s preparation for the new season.
