Princewill Odidi Hails Mamdani’s Victory in New York Mayoral Election as Triumph of People’s Power

Public policy analyst and commentator, Princewill Odidi, has congratulated Mamdani, the newly elected Mayor of New York City, describing his victory as a shining example of democracy and people’s power in action.
In a post shared shortly after the announcement of the election results, Odidi celebrated Mamdani’s triumph, noting that his win came despite overwhelming opposition from powerful political and financial interests.
> “This is democracy at work. Mamdani wins New York mayoral elections. This is what we call people’s power. The entire establishment worked against him, Trump mobilized his base against him, the Israeli lobby worked against him, they called him terrorist, they called him African immigrant, they called him communist, they called him inexperienced, but New York youths stood with him,” Odidi wrote.
He commended the resilience and political consciousness of young voters in New York, saying their support for Mamdani reflects a growing global movement toward inclusive leadership and social justice.
Odidi further described Mamdani as “a smart guy who cares for the poor,” stressing that his victory challenges negative stereotypes against Muslims and immigrants.

Mamdani’s historic win has drawn international attention, as he becomes the first Muslim and African-born politician to be elected as New York City Mayor.
