Professors to Launch a book to celebrate Dr. Alfred Izon-Ebi, Izon Music

Izon Music set to take a new turn as professors gathered to celebrate Izon music Icon, Dr. Alfred Izon-Ebi popularly Known as Alfred Jking and the Izon music in general, with a book Launch, titled “Life And Melodies: The Music Realm Of Izon-Ebi Alfred.”

This was disclosed to Tarakirivoice On Sunday when the residence of Dr. Alfred Izon-Ebi popularly Known as Alfred Jking in Yenagoa Bayelsa State,was visited by a distinguished assembly of scholars, including professors and doctorate holders, gathered for a notable courtesy visit to esteemed the digital music icon. The meeting marked a significant moment in recognizing the contributions of Dr. Jking to the Izon music industry.

though date has not been announced on when the book will be Launched, according to findings by Tarakirivoice, among those who took part, contributed in putting the book together include; Professor Ben Binebai, Professor Sunday Abraye, Dr. Odingowei Kwokwo (Associate Professor), Dr. Rudolph Kansese (Associate Professor), Dr. Tam Azorbo (Associate Professor), Dr. Fred Brisibe, Dr. Ebifaghe Fawei, Ernest Weridonghan and Jonathan Kiapene.
This is the first of its kind in Izon-ebe where high-profile academic scholars are coming together to make a piece about an Indigenous music icon.
The centerpiece of the book, titled “Life And Melodies: The Music Realm Of Izon-Ebi Alfred,” offers an in-depth exploration of the rich tapestry of Izon musical traditions.
The book contains ten (10) chapters, and equally examines the profound impact of Izon-Ebi Alfred on the development and globalization of Izon music, highlighting his pioneering role in utilizing digital technology to enhance the visibility and appreciation of this cultural art form.
Additionally, the book provides an insightful analysis of the taxonomy of Alfred’s music, illustrating the unique elements that define his sound.
Beyond this, the publication delves into the evolutionary trends of Izon music over the centuries. It traces its journey from the ancient chants rooted in indigenous culture to the forefront of contemporary compositions, showcasing the dynamic changes and innovations that have characterized this genre.
