Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has called on Nigerians—particularly the youth—to take ownership of their political destiny and resist the recycling of failed leaders across generations.
In a message shared on Thursday, Sowore challenged citizens to break away from the long-standing political culture dominated by what he described as “the same politicians who have lied to every generation.”
> “It’s time for Nigerians, young and old, to take ownership of their political future,” Sowore declared. “Stop letting the same politicians recycle failure across generations; they lied to your grandparents, they probably did to your dad and mom, too, and now you can stand up for yourself.”
He urged Nigerians to get involved in active politics, organise around principles of integrity and justice, and reject corrupt leadership.
> “Get involved, get organised, and stand for integrity, transparency, and justice in leadership,” he added.

Sowore, a longtime advocate for good governance and civic participation, has consistently urged Nigerians to challenge entrenched political structures and demand accountability from those in power.
His latest call aligns with ongoing efforts by the AAC to expand grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections, positioning itself as a viable alternative to Nigeria’s dominant political parties.
