Abuja– the women in Energy, Oil and Gas award the Hon. Minister for petroleum Resources Chief Timipre Sylva, the Grand Ambassador on Tuesday may 4th at the NNPC towers Abuja
Speaking on behalf of the group, the nation’s foremost women group in the oil and gas sector, Oladumi Owo, president of WEOG hailed the minister’s visible Gas initiatives.
In her word “your Excellency, you declared last year the year of gas. We are happy you have extended it to the decades of Gas, we are so excited about the project your administraton is embarking on. We like the sustainability and the viability of your plans. We thank you and we appreciate you and we hope to be part of it. We want to demand that you make women active participants in your highly commendable gas drive”
Also speaking, Brenda Ataga, the Minister’s aids on Gas Business Development and investment said “we are commencing our intervention for small and medium scale Businesses. We are creating micro-distribution centers for LPG in different communities so that women can lead the campaign for Gas as a substitute energy for cooking”
In his reaction, Sylva thanked the group for calling and expressed confidence stating that women will pioneer, effectively, the nation’s next course towards a Gas powered Nigeria. “I am very happy that you have expressed interest to work with us. There is a lot we can do together. There will be common ground for us to work together and I’m sure this sector will benefit hugely from the many positive and innovation women can bring”
Tarakiri voice newspaper report that The Honorable minister of state for petroleum Resources, Timipre sylva, inspected the site of the ongoing Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGAPS) at Emeyal Ogbia local government Area, Bayelsa state.
The Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme is the Nigerian Content Development and monitoring Board’s (NCDMB) flagship project, which is in line with the federal Government mandate to develop indigenous capacities for the oil and gas industry.
Sylva in his remarks after a tour of the facility, said “I must say am very impressed with what I have seen today. Once upon a time this place was a swamp. The Buhari administration promised to bring job to our people because we believe that job creation can also solve the problems of the Niger Delta region”
