“Don’t give us the Ndiomu’s Treatment” -Ex-militant Tells Otuaro

An Activist, the founder of Tarakirivoice and Leader, scribe of the Phase II of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Bayelsa state Chapter, Self-Style Gen.Passman Akpos has frowned at the cold attitude the Amnesty Boss is giving at the discharge of his duty concerning the issues that led to the withdrawal of the matter that was before the House Committee on public petition in the National house of representatives.
Recall, Tarakirivoice reported that the Phase II of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, had a pending issue against the Amnesty office, which started during the tenure of Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu, former Interim Administrator of the Programme, that was before the House Committee on Public Petition, National House of Representatives.
According to the report, the matter was withdrawn on the 11th of July 2024 base on the trust and Love the phase II Leaders had for the current Administrator, Chief Dennis Brutus Otuaro PhD without any formal agreement in writing.
According to Passman in an open letter Address to the Administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme, Chief Dennis Brutus Otuaro PhD, “The Administrator sir, am writing this with so much pain in my heart. First and foremost I want to congratulate you on you emergence as the Administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme”
“Sir, before you emerged as the administrator, there was an ongoing and continuous battle between the Phase II and the former Interim Administrator, Maj.Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu, I spearheaded the battle in the media front against him”
“This battle we fought, led to the sack of the former Interim Administrator and your emergence as the current Administrator of the Amnesty Programme”
“The reasons why we fight him was because of his insensitivity to the plight of the Ex-agitators, using the Nigeria Army to intimidate us, causing divide and rule among us, stopping our stipend payment without consultation and calling us names that we are fraud stars in our own programme”
“At first, he was belittling the extent we will go with the fight, but God will have it, he was deposed of his position. He arrested some of us but we never gave up, until he was taken out of the way and that’s what led to your emergence as the current Administrator “
“Chief Marbo Adams, the Head of Peace building as been on this matter, having series of interactions with us on your behalf and we finally concluded base on your instructions and the love we have for you as a person who was part of the struggle in the Niger-Delta, we went without agitation to withdraw the matter in trust, before the House Committee on public petition in the National House of representatives on the 11th of this months”
“After we withdrew the case, a meeting was scheduled for us to meet with you, so we assembled at the office in Maitama , Nile street in Abuja, we wait and waited till evening, only to receive a call that you were having a meeting somewhere that you will not be able to meet with us and that the meeting will be rescheduled in the next day and we were told that day that you traveled, that you will not be able to meet with us, only for me to find out that you were actually in town and that was the day you had meeting with the INC President in the Amnesty Office Abuja”
“Sir, This is the Ndiomu’s Treatment you are giving to us, and personally I don’t like it, many of us are still in Abuja to meet with you so as to resolve the matter ones and for all, but your body language and the attitude is not really encouraging”
“Sir, this is just a prompter, so you know that we are still waiting in Abuja to meet with you so the whole matter will be addressed and we believe you will not push us to take steps that supposed not be taken, please let go of the Ndiomu’s Attitude and display your own attitude and write your name in gold”
“We await your response sir” he noted.
