Gov. Diri, Others attends Okolede New Yam Festival, Agudama-Ekpetiama, preaches peace, Oneness in Bayelsa

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri and his deputy, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo today joined the Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom, King Bubaraye Dakolo and the people of the Kingdom in celebrating this year’s Okolede New Yam Festival.
The event which took place in Agudama-Ekpetiama also had other notable personalities and top Government functionaries in attendance amongst whom are; Sen. Moses Cleopas, Senator representing Bayelsa central senatorial district and Prof Steve Azaiki, member representing Yenagoa-Kolokuma/ Opokuma federal constituency who was also the chairman of the occasion.
Diri said, “First, I will like to say a very big thank you to the King and people of Ekpetiama Kingdom who have upheld tradition and has brought all the Ekpetiama people together today. Indeed, this is what the prosperity government has been preaching, that we have to unite as a People, and such activities go a very long way to unite the people”
Adding that, “You are all very good people of this kingdom. If there is peace in Bayelsa and in Ekpetiama Kingdom, it is because you are peaceful people and your king is a very peaceful man. It is only when you are peaceful and united that development can come your way”
He noted that, “For all of us, this Government is saying that we are one and the same People. If you like be in APC or PDP, first and foremost, you are from Ekpetiama Kingdom” he said.
