LGA Chairman Urges Security Agencies To Improve On Intelligence Gathering

The Ahoada East Local Government Area Executive Chairman, Barr. Ben Israel Eke, has urged security agencies in the area to improve on its intelligence gathering to increase the security of lives and property.
The chairman, who made the call after the killing of five persons in the early hours of Sunday, November 12, in a release signed by him, challenged the agencies to fish out the killers of the people.
“I also call on security agencies to improve their security architecture in intelligence gathering, securing lives and property and also fish out the killers of our people. The forces of good will surely overcome that of evil,” the release read.
The press release titled: ‘Enough of the Killings’, reads; “My attention has been drawn to the gruesome killing of five persons at Odiemerenyi community in the early hours of Sunday, 12th of November 2023.
“I sincerely send my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and pray that God grants them the fortitude to bear the loss
“I want to use this opportunity to call on the perpetrators of this
dastardly act to desist forthwith, as government will not fold its arm and watch hapless citizens murdered in their homes. Life is irreparable and no one is permitted to take the life of another.
“As a government, we urge all to remain calm and not to take laws into their hands as government will use everything within its powers to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly acts will face justice.
In the release, the LGA helmsman urged citizens to go about their lawful duties, assured that the long arm of the law would soon catch up with the killers.
He reminded the people that only a peaceful community would attract development and investment.
“I enjoin all to remain peaceful and law-abiding for the development of our land. Violence brings no good to any community, rather it brings destruction and backwardness,” he stated.
