The Niger-Delta Ex-agitators at the early hours of Tuesday were seen in their numbers, presented themselves to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to be arrested.
Recall the Interim administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Maj.Gen Barry Tariye Ndiomu, accused the Ex-agitators of fraud by linking one BVN TO thirty-two accounts.
Tarakirivoice reported the non-payment of the stipends of the Ex-agitators for over six months.
The Ex-agitators in a letter made available to Tarakirivoice that was signed by the National Chairman of phase 2, Aso Tambo, National Chairman of phase three, Julius Joseph, the Secretary of phase two, Passman Akpos and Gen. John Esuku, former acting Chairman of phase 2, Bayelsa State.
It was addressed to the Chairman of Economic and Financial crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed BAWA.
” We beg to avail ourselves, for arrest and investigation on the ground of the accusation levelled against us by the interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Maj. Gen Barry Tariye Ndiomu, on the issue of the LINKAGE of BVN by the Niger-Delta Ex-agitators.
“The letter reads in part, “We the above named body, that comprises of the leadership of the First, Second and Third phases of the Coalition of the Niger-Delta Ex-agitators of the presidential Amnesty Programme.We beg to avail ourselves, for arrest and investigation on the ground of the accusation levelled against us by the interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Maj. Gen Barry Tariye Ndiomu, on the issue of the LINKAGE of BVN by the Niger-Delta Ex-agitators.
The interim Administrator has repeatedly told us on the reasons why he refused to pay the over six months stipends and areas owing the 7000 Ex-agitators on the ground of fraud, that he has reported the matter to the EFCC, ICPC and the DSS, that the issue is beyond him to discuss.
That the Ex-agitators should wait as long as the investigation will last, not minding the pains and anguish faced by us.
If, has told by the interim Administrator that the matter is already with the EFCC, then is simple, we are here, arrest us.Let the Interim Administrator come and explain himself before the EFCC in the midst of us how he has been running the Amnesty Office in this his six months of Leadership.
We want to make bold to say we are not guilty of the allegation, if every explanations are made bear and we are found culpable, we will accept our fate. If not, we know where we came from and we know how to get there” they added.
