Popular Nigerian Activist write pst. E.A Adeboye an Open Letter

“My Dear beloved Daddy E.A Adeboye,

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, my name is DCN Passman Akpos, a dedicated serving member of one of the parishes in Bayelsa Province II, Region 27.

I am a believer of the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, a born again child of God, a Christian not in title but in lifestyle, am married with two kids.

I am an Activist, a social and political commentator, a lover of our dear country Nigeria and want her development in every ramifications.

I wouldn’t have bothered you with this if I have the capacity to carry on with this task, seeing you have so much at hand to handle, both physically and spiritually.

Daddy, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is a well organised body, and this is seen, in year in, and year out, when the church conduct her annual convention with Millions of people gathered in the Redemption city, well coordinated with no incident of stampede even when the crowd is overwhelming, all well fed with no one left to complain about not having food to eat, for the week long period of the programme.

The Church, well structured, within and outside Nigeria. In Nigeria, the Church has the National headquarters, different Regions, Provincial headquarters, Zonal headquarters, Area headquarters and the Parishes which is the lowest body of the Church in the organogram and this has made the church to prosper and expand like wildfire. All these for the praise of God’s name.

This is because of your mastery in coordination and administrative style, I believe this is as a result of the wisdom of God in you and your background in mathematics where formulas are to be placed side by side, organised in pattern to arrive at a comprehensible solution.

Daddy, am sorry for taking you this long epistle, but am like Joseph who had a dream of how Egypt hurt to have been manage at that time, so as to avoid the pending famine.(Gen 41:33-36).

The current situation of our beloved country Nigeria need urgent attention, the country needs the intervention of the church. The Church with limited resources been able to manage herself in driving the vision to manifestation, is out of the fear of God and holiness and with the hope that nothing that has been done in the secret, that is not exposed to God, and every action has a reward in the last days whether good or evil.

Daddy, the leaders of this country, who makes policies and political decisions does not have these orientation, they believe the people doesn’t see them, and anything done, ends here on this present world so they don’t bother, even in the midst of abundance resource, Nigeria is still among one of the poorest nation of the world.

Our citizens suffer hunger daily,Over 33 million Nigerians face hunger in 2025, with acute food insecurity rising due to soaring food prices, conflict, and climate issues. Inflation and flooding have damaged farmland, worsening food shortages, especially in northern Nigeria. Kids and pregnant women are most at risk, and aid shortfalls threaten to cut emergency food support soon.

Lack of finance hits Nigerian agriculture hard, with the following reasons;

1. Limiting farmers’ access to affordable credit, especially smallholders lacking collateral.

2. Restricting funds for mechanization, irrigation, and infrastructure, which lowers productivity.

3. Driving reliance on expensive informal loans with high interest rates, raising costs. 4. Reducing govt budget allocations to below 2%, far less than the 10% AU Maputo target.

5. Discouraging banks due to perceived risks like insecurity and climate issues.

Overall, insufficient financing stalls growth, food security, and rural livelihoods in Nigeria’s farming sector.

Daddy, this is where the church comes in.let the church, come up with the idea of a mutual fund, this fund should be established on Regional bases as indicated in the Church’s Organogram, and let each region acquire a large portion of arable land, and make it an agricultural settlement, in these settlements, modern agricultural amenities, factory that will turn raw farm produce to finish products should be built.

The Church has a teeming vast number of youth and able bodied men and women who, as I write this epistle, are jobless and this will be a means of massive job creation.

Every agricultural settlement should have a security formation, and this with the assistance of the government, will be made possible.

With the numerous Regions that the church have in Nigeria, and if all have agricultural settlement as indicated around the country. Nigeria will be one of the best countries among the committee of Nations.

Daddy, with your acumen in organisation and administrative prowess, couple with your background in mathematics and the wisdom of God, this is possible by his grace.

Daddy, if the Redeemed Christian Church of God starts this, other denominations of the church will follow suit and the church will then take the lead in the country and the rest will be history.

I pray that this gets to you in sound health and by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks,

Yours faithfully,

I am one of your beloved sons!
