The traditional marriage ceremony of the king of Nollywood, Elaweremi Pereke Elaweremi and his heartthrob, Oziri Tubolayefa, walk down the aisle on Saturday April 3, 2021 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

The epoch-making event which took place at the Tamara Hall, Yenezue-gene, Yenagoa saw top celebrities in the Nollywood industries both within and outside the state were in attendance. Some of the Nollywood biggest names present includes; Gentle Jack, Ngozi Ezeonu, Obi Okoli, Collins Ejike and many others.

After the cutting of the ceremonial cake, which was led by actress, Ngozi Ezeonu, she prayed for stronger love, fruitfulness and God’s grace upon the marriage.

Also present at the event was the governor of Bayelsa State, His excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, who was represented by the commissioner for information, Orientation and strategy, Hon. Ayiba Crowther Duba, former chairman Ekeremor local government area, Hon. Innocent Kpako, some members of the Bayelsa state house of assembly and a host of top government functionaries in the state.

On his remark, the governor thanked the king of Nollywood, Mr Elaweremi Pereke for attracting visitors outside the state thereby putting the state in the tourism sector. He described Mr Pereke as “king” and promised that the state government would always support him.
The governor also, advised youths in the state to take advantage of the Prosperity administration and engage in meaningful activities that would positively affect their lives.

He said, “King of Nollywood (Elaweremi Pereke), as a government, I would want to use you as an example for the Bayelsan youths, if you look at what is happening here today, you would want to ask who is exactly is marrying? Is he the son of a king? The Son of a governor? Is his father so wealthy?
“But all those questions that you can ask attest to the fact that this occasion has been very very grand. And I want to thank you for turning Yenagoa and the state of Bayelsa as touring center for your colleagues to come all the way from Lagos and other places in the country. This is to show that whatever you find yourself to do, do it very well. They say, when a child cleans his hands very well, he eats with kings, this is what has happen”. He said.

“It is my prayer, whatever God you serve and your skills and talents has taken you to, it will be well with you.
The state government is going to standby you. That tells for every other youth who is doing one thing or the other, when we say prosperity, it is things like this that make us to say prosperity. It is not only in politics a name for themselves. He (Elaweremi Pereke) has made name for himself. He’s a king of Nollywood and he is a king of Bayelsa state.

“To this end, I would want to encourage Bayelsa youths to work as seriously so that where ever you are, you keep the flag of Bayelsa flying. To make sure that the Ijawman is not a lazy man”, he noted.

“To the couple, madam you have a husband who’s well known. I pray that this marriage is going to be a testimony to others and it is going successful marriage. God himself will make it work for you and Bayelsans. Thank you all”.

On his part, the king of Nollywood, Elaweremi Pereke, thanked everyone for coming and prayed God to grant them unending celebration
