Tinubu Appoints Governor Douye Diri as South-South Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State, as the South-South Coordinator of the National Steering Committee for the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme.
The appointment, which marks the first national appointment under the Renewed Hope initiative, is seen as a strategic step toward fostering unity and inclusive governance across the country.
According to the presidency, the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme is designed to bring development closer to the grassroots through sustainable projects and community-based interventions aimed at improving living standards, creating jobs, and deepening national cohesion.
President Tinubu’s decision to appoint Governor Diri — a serving governor from the opposition party — underscores what many political observers describe as his commitment to bipartisan collaboration for national growth.
