WAEC: PPSB charges Principals to use science tools judiciously as it flags-off distribution in Bayelsa

Principals of public secondary schools have been charged to put the Science Practical Materials provided by the state government into good use for optimal results in the ongoing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) terminal examinations.
Executive Chairman of the Bayelsa State Post Primary Schools’ Board, (PPSB), High Chief Millonaire Asangba, gave the charge at the formal flag-off of the Science Practical Materials Distribution exercise to public secondary schools, which took place at the board headquarters in Yenagoa on Friday.
The PPSB Boss, expressed confidence on the principals to do the right thing as he cautioned them against examination malpractices which have become a bane in contemporary Nigerian society.
Chief Asangba stated that his usual unscheduled visits to public secondary schools has been able to address some challenges and curtail truancy among teachers, assuring that the Diri-led government is not resting on its oars in meeting the needs of teachers and students in public schools.
He reiterated that the state government gesture of providing science materials for public schools, was novel, as he expressed optimism that with the efforts of Governor Diri to improve public secondary schools in the state, the results for the ongoing terminal examinations in WAEC and NECO shall be favourable.
In his remarks, the board member in charge of Science, Technology and Educational Services, Engineer Innocent Eteli Digitemie, who appreciated the board Chairman for his efforts in liaising with the governor to get the materials, charged principals to be of good cheer and handle the materials with utmost care for the good of all.
Speaking on behalf of the principals, the principal of Community Secondary School, Akedei, Mrs. Agbe-ere Omusuku, thanked the governor, the executive Chairman and members of PPSB for rallying round to ensure that public school students get the needed tools to take part in science practicals in the ongoing WAEC examinations.
Highpoint of the occasion was the symbolic presentation of the Science Practical Materials to some principals present by the Chairman, board members, and directors.
Present at the occasion were all PPSB members, Directors of various departments and principals of some selected secondary schools across all nine zones of PPSB.
