“You Used Him, Now You Arrest Him?” — “Go And Release Ezekiel Daniel!”: Tari Olotu Challenges Tompolo Over Reported Arrest Of Former Ally

By Passman Akpos

Niger Delta commentator Tari Olotu has reacted to the reported arrest of Ezekiel Daniel, questioning the circumstances surrounding the development and calling on High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, to release him.

In a Video made available to Tarakirivoice, Olotu alleged that Daniel was previously closely associated with Tompolo and had defended his interests by speaking against other people.

Olotu’s comments are allegations and opinions contained in his statement and have not been independently verified by Tarakirivoice.

“Finally, Them Done Arrest Ezekiel”

Reacting to the reported arrest, Olotu recalled what he described as Daniel’s previous relationship with Tompolo.

According to Olotu, Daniel previously worked with Tompolo’s camp and was allegedly used to attack or blackmail people.

“He was the best man to you Tompolo,” Olotu said, alleging that Daniel had fought against people on Tompolo’s behalf and had even gone to prison in connection with matters involving him.

Olotu questioned why Daniel was allegedly not arrested during that period.

A Dramatic Change In Position

Olotu claimed that Daniel eventually changed his position after realising that some of his previous actions had been mistakes.

He portrayed Daniel as someone who had once defended the interests of Tompolo’s camp but later began speaking against them and pointing out what he considered wrongdoing.

According to Olotu, that change in position was followed by Daniel’s reported arrest.

“Now him don realise himself saying he was making a mistake,” Olotu said.

He suggested that Daniel’s experience demonstrated what he described as the consequences of changing sides after previously defending particular interests.

“Go And Release That Guy”

Olotu’s main appeal was directed at Tompolo.

“Oga Tompolo, go release that guy,” he said.

He argued that Daniel should not be kept in detention and warned that the situation could attract greater public attention to the relationships and activities surrounding the controversy.

Olotu also suggested that Daniel’s reported detention could expose what he described as actions that had previously remained hidden.

“Ijaw Leaders Will Be Exposed”

The commentator extended his criticism to what he described as the leadership of the Ijaw community.

Olotu alleged that the unfolding situation would gradually reveal to the public what he believes has been happening behind the scenes.

“Finally, na you go expose una self to the world,” he said.

He argued that the public was beginning to see what he described as the roles played by different individuals in the controversy.

“There Is Time For Everything”

Olotu framed the situation as an example of consequences eventually catching up with people.

“There is time for everything,” he said, arguing that actions taken against others can eventually return to those who carried them out.

He also dismissed the idea that imprisonment should be regarded as the ultimate punishment.

“The highest is arrest! Arrest! Them nor dey die for prison,” Olotu said, arguing that prison should not be portrayed as the end of a person’s life.

Olotu’s Final Appeal

Olotu ended his statement with a direct plea for Daniel’s release.

He called on Tompolo to release Daniel and argued that doing so would prevent the controversy from escalating further.

His central message was simple:

“Go and release Ezekiel Daniel.”

The allegations made by Olotu concerning Daniel’s past activities, his relationship with Tompolo and the circumstances surrounding his reported arrest remain allegations contained in his statement. Tarakirivoice has not independently established those claims.
