Your worst enemies are those of your household -Ex-militants slams Otuaro, Issues Amnesty Boss 7 days ultimatum to resume Case Against PAP

“While the public hearing was ongoing you were appointed sometimes in March 2024, by Mr President, your appointment was greeted with hope that you were one of us for the struggle for a better and egalitarian society in the Niger-Delta”
“As a sign of good things to come, you called us for a meeting through Adams, were you appealed for amicable settlement for all issues involved, you directed that the petition before the House of representatives be withdrawn to pave way for settlement within one month. we respectfully obliged, Complied and withdrew accordingly to enable you settle our demands in your office but you deceived us and take us for a fool”
These were the words of the Ex-militants of the presidential Amnesty Programme, phase II, as they issued the Amnesty Boss, Chief Dennis Brutus Otuaro, 7 days ultimatum to meet up with their demands
In a letter Addressed to the Administrator, Chief Dennis Brutus Otuaro on Tuesday, signed by their counsel, Anaukyaa Mnenge Peter ESQ, noted ” Our client have informed us that they withdrew their petition at the House of Representatives on the 17th day of July 2024, you have refused and neglected to personally meet with them to hear their pains. Remember you were the only light they saw in the whole of the office to honour to withdraw their public petition at the house of Representatives”
“Our client lamented that the officers you have instructed to meet with them have refused their legal representatives access to the meetings and have abandoned them”
“They stated that on several occasions you have promised to meet with them personally but you will change your mind at the last minutes without any reason given for your absence”
“That they have been kept in Abuja for days with a promise that you are going to meet with them but to no avail as you assured them of their matter treated with urgency it requires, have deserted them immediately they withdraw their matter at the House Committee on public petition”
“That you have abandoned them and their plights. that nothing has been done about their complaints of non-payment of their stipends for over two years just because they have trusted you and withdraw their petition “
“It is our client’s belief that you are well informed of the issues at hand and can not be misled by mischief makers with ill advise most especially as you are one of them who have become their leader”
“It is therefore, the resolved of our clients that since you abandoned them like your predecessors, they lost hope in you, they have given us the express instructions to demands as follows “
(1) ” That in the event that you failed to reach out to them personally, within (7) working days, from the day of service of this letter, they shall return to the House of representatives to relist their petition for hearing “
(2)”That we should also write the Senate and the presidency and detail the conduct of the presidential Amnesty Programme that are inimical to the aims and objective with which the programme was set up for, by the federal Government of Nigeria “
