Youths body set to train 200 youths on various skills for free in Bayelsa

In a bid to make youths industrious and employable in the state, the Ekeremor local government area Federated Youths Council (EFYC) has resolved to train 200 youths in the area.

The youths body made the resolution after a stakeholders meeting between Executives and Elders of the EKELGA Federated Youths Council, yesterday at the Udeme Hotels, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

A statement jointly signed by its president, Comr. Richard Lawyer and Secretary, Comr. Noro Raphael, stated that the first phase of the training is expected to capture 70% of youths from the Ekeremor LGA. 

It added that the program would cover various skill set, while emphasizing that the sole recipients of the training should be from the LGA.

The statement reads in part, “That

this First Phase of the program will basically capture 70% of Ekeremor Youths who are resident here in Yenagoa that are jobless and without skills. This will take some of our youths off the street to be self reliance. The remaining 30% is for the youths that are not resident in Yenagoa. 

“That the training centers for the various skills are all located here in Yenagoa. Consequently,  all prospective participants will be giving the privilege to make choice of their preferred  centers as soon as submission of forms end.

“All interested youths shall come with their Local Government Identification Letter as means to prove that he/she is from Ekeremor LGA to pick up their registration forms on the 13th day of September, 2021 being Monday at Udeme Hotel, Opolo, Yenagoa by 11:00am. The forms are not for sale. Collection and submission of forms end on Tuesday, 14th of September, 2021. Please, kindly note that the training commences immediately the submission of forms end.

“For purpose of emphasis, the program is exclusively designed for only youths from Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

“That the leadership is calling on all Elected officers, political appointees and other well meaning citizens of Ekeremor LGA to please assist the body to enable us achieve the vision of empowering youths to be self sufficient through this program.

“The leadership of the union also uses this medium to appreciate the Miracle Governor of our dear State, Sen. Douye Diri and his workaholic Deputy Governor, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for their continues support on youth activities and pledged to reciprocate  in all necessary ramifications the policies and programmes of the Prosperity Government of the State.”

The statement noted that the free skill acquisition training program is to last for three months.
