have keenly watched and observed politicians as we progress towards the 2023 general election.
Looking at the different politicians who have declared their interest in running for the position of a president for the Nigeria state, Goodluck Jonathan should be the best option and should be given a chance for the interest of the country.
Currently, the country is strongly polarized, in terms of tribe, religion and otherwise; there are different sections and factions who want self determination to the detriment of the unity and oneness of the Nigeria state.
If you look, without being told, different part of the country is agitating to secede from the entity called Nigeria.
In the southern region, the southwest is agitating and demanding for the Oduduwa Republic; the southeast is agitating for Biafra Republic, the Niger Delta, is also agitating for the Niger Delta Republic.
If these units happen to have their way and secede from the Nigeria state, that’s the end of the entity called Nigeria.
Nigeria strength lies in our unity in diversity, we are a country that is made-up of different nation, and this amplified our greatness.
Nigeria oneness is just a cord. The moment the cord is cut, our secession is inevitable.
The handler of the cord determine whether it will cut or not.
The main handler of the cord that binds us together as a nation, is in the person of the president at the particular period or time.
At this stage of Nigeria, if a fanatic of the agenda of the secession of Nigeria took hold of power at the center stage, the disintegration of Nigeria will be at the speed of light.
In our fragile unity right now, we need an individual who strongly believe in the unity and oneness of the Nigeria state, somebody who put Nigeria first before other options.
Someone, who will say with sincerity of heart, ” my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian”.
What Jonathan did in 2015, no politician on the current list of presidential Aspirant can do it. What would have turn out to be a doom for Nigeria, he made it easy by conceding defeat. Jonathan put the country interest first before his ambition.
Look at what he said and I quote. ” What that decision did for me and the nation was to avert a looming crisis. Given the tension in the land at that time, I was deeply contemplative of what would have happened if we had let our nation,the biggest black nation on earth, slide into anarchy, because of contestations for power. What then would have happened to our citizens, Nigeria’s economy and the investments driving it’s growth? I was convinced that the implication for peace and the economy of the sub- region and the rest of the continent, couldn’t have spelled anything else but doom”.
This is the voice of a true nationalist, who loves and defends his country.
Left for some politicians in the 2023 presidential race; they have ambition for self and not for the nation.
The strength and greatness of Nigeria lie’s in our unity, divided we fall, united we stand.
Take sentiment apart, forget about how bad our economy has become. We need unity, oneness, trust and believe of ourselves and each other to move this entity called Nigeria forward.
I still love Nigeria, is my beloved country, you do too, if not what was your last reaction in our last football match against Ghana.
Jonathan is the only man that believe in the Nigeria project. Nigeria must come first, because the 2023 election is all about Nigeria, and Jonathan can do it.
Let’s give him another chance.
