NDDC Boss, Samuel Ogbuku, Makes Public Appearance Amid Rumoured Military Arrest

Port Harcourt — The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has appeared publicly in Port Harcourt amid widespread rumours of his alleged arrest by the military.
Ogbuku was seen live at the NDDC Strategy Meeting on Agriculture, where he addressed senior officials and stakeholders on the Commission’s plans to strengthen food security and empower rural communities across the Niger Delta region.
The public appearance effectively dispelled ongoing speculations that he had been arrested or detained by military authorities in connection with recent investigations into financial transactions involving the NDDC.
Speaking at the event, Ogbuku reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to diversifying the regional economy through agriculture, noting that the initiative aims to create sustainable livelihoods and reduce youth unemployment.
“Our focus remains on practical, community-based agricultural development. The Niger Delta has the resources and capacity to feed not just itself, but the entire nation,” he said.
The NDDC boss also stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the implementation of agricultural projects, assuring that every initiative will align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
