The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced that it has charged Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu, the brother of popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, before a court in Abuja for multiple alleged offences.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Command said Ojeogwu is facing charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.
According to police sources, the case followed a formal complaint lodged against Ojeogwu, leading to an investigation and subsequent arraignment.
While details of the incident remain sketchy, the police confirmed that the matter has been formally filed before a competent court of jurisdiction within the FCT, and legal proceedings have commenced.
“The Federal Capital Territory Police Command wishes to confirm that one Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu has been charged before the court for offences relating to criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft,” the statement read in part. “The Command remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is served without fear or favour.”
As of press time, there has been no official response from Regina Daniels or her family regarding the development.
Ojeogwu, popularly known as “Sammy West,” has previously been in the news over controversies linked to his sister’s husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, though it remains unclear whether the current charges are connected to those earlier reports.
The case is expected to continue in court next week.
