Former Kaduna State Governor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has called on governors in Nigeria’s Northern region to adopt technology and champion digitalisation as a means to accelerate development.
Speaking during a recent forum on governance and innovation, El-Rufai emphasized that technological adoption is critical for enhancing efficiency, transparency, and economic growth in the North.
In addition, he urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to leverage technology in the conduct of the 2027 elections, highlighting that digital tools could improve transparency, reduce election-related disputes, and strengthen democratic processes.
El-Rufai’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about modernising governance across Nigeria, with a focus on bridging the digital divide and ensuring that all regions benefit from technological advancements.
