About 40 persons were reportedly trapped under the rubbles of a collapsed storey building in Sabon Lugbe, a suburban community in Abuja.
According to reports, the collapse occurred at about 5pm on Saturday, while the victims were still in the building.
In multiple videos circulated on social media, particularly X, residents were seen attempting to rescue the trapped victims from the rubbles.
As of the time of filing this report, it was unclear whether emergency services were at the scene of the incident to rescue the victims.
Our correspondent was also unable to reach the Head of Public Affairs of the FCT Emergency Management Department, Nkechi Isa, despite several attempts.
