“At 55, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo Emerges as Niger Delta’s Most Powerful Unelected Figure — Dennis Brutu Otuaro Declares”

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dennis Brutu Otuaro, has lauded Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for his significant contributions to peace, stability, and development in the Niger Delta and across Nigeria as he marks his 55th birthday.
In a statement released on Sunday, Dr. Otuaro described Tompolo, Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), as a foremost freedom fighter, patriot, and distinguished son of the Niger Delta and the Ijaw nation.
According to the PAP boss, Tompolo’s impact on regional security and economic growth remains profound, noting that his efforts have helped stabilize the oil-rich Niger Delta and contributed to national development. He emphasized that the ex-militant leader has evolved into a respected community builder and humanitarian, whose philanthropic activities have positively touched countless lives.
Otuaro highlighted that through TSSNL, Tompolo has created employment opportunities for over 45,000 youths in the Niger Delta, while also supporting many indigent students through scholarship programmes aimed at promoting higher education in the region.
He further commended Tompolo’s expertise in security and intelligence, noting that the operations of Tantita Security Services have played a vital role in safeguarding Nigeria’s crude oil infrastructure. This, he said, has significantly contributed to the recent rise in the country’s oil production, which has reportedly reached 1.8 million barrels per day.
“The successes recorded by TSSNL clearly demonstrate that the partnership between the Federal Government and the security outfit is delivering on its mandate,” Otuaro stated.
The PAP Administrator also praised Tompolo’s support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the Tantita boss recognizes the administration’s developmental strides in the Niger Delta and remains committed to its continuity.
Celebrating the milestone, Otuaro described Tompolo as a mentor, philanthropist, and patriotic Nigerian whose legacy of service continues to inspire many across the country.
“I join family, friends, associates, and well-wishers to celebrate a great leader and a worthy son of the Niger Delta. Tompolo is a huge asset not only to the Ijaw nation but to Nigeria as a whole,” he said.
He concluded with prayers for continued good health, strength, and long life for the Niger Delta leader.
