A strong wave of political momentum is building across Bayelsa West as several community-based organizations, youth groups, women associations, student bodies, and grassroots political movements have thrown their weight behind former Bayelsa State Governor and Senator, Henry Seriake Dickson, and High Chief Hon. Selekebinah Saboh, urging them to contest for Senate and House of Representatives seats respectively under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement, described as a “Mega Endorsement/Support for Dickson-Seles,” was presented as a clarion call to service by stakeholders from the Sagbama–Ekeremor Federal Constituency, who declared that the constituency needs experienced, visionary, and people-oriented leadership capable of delivering quality representation and sustainable development
According to the statement signed by Comr. Gboluseri Timipre Samuel, Apostle of the NDC and DG of NDCON-DSON, the movement represents the genuine desires of the people of Bayelsa West who are demanding leadership built on conscience, competence, accountability, goodwill, and service to humanity.
The groups specifically called on Senator Dickson to contest for the Bayelsa West Senatorial seat, while urging Hon. Seles Saboh to run for the House of Representatives seat for Sagbama–Ekeremor Federal Constituency under the NDC platform.
“The people have spoken. The call to service is clear,” the statement declared, emphasizing that the movement is not merely political but a people-driven demand for progressive leadership and democratic consolidation.
Among the allied NGOs and support groups backing the endorsement are the Community Chairlady’s and Former Chairlady’s Association Ekelga, Keme to Keme Movement, Bayelsa West Unique Ladies, NDC Support Group Sagbama LGA, Ekelga Youths Vanguard, Bayelsa West Postgraduates and Undergraduates Students Vanguard, Alabini Women Alliance, Team Seles and Seles Girls, and the Bilabiri II Political Grassroots Movement.
Leaders of these groups, including Remember Perisaw, Evah Tamini, Mercy Ayesua, Evangelist Ebimene Douglas, Penna Gilbert Austin, Elijah Egbere, Ifiemi Tiemo, Glory Kolomo, and Michael Tubo Boroiyegha, were listed as part of the coalition driving the endorsement.
Supporters say the Dickson-Seles vision represents a new era of political progress for Bayelsa West, with promises centered on youth empowerment, women inclusion, sustainable community development, accessible leadership, and effective legislative representation.
The statement concluded with the slogan: “NDC Or Nothing, Dickson-Seles Or Nothing Movement,” signaling what observers describe as an early but significant political mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
Political analysts believe the endorsement could reshape political calculations within Sagbama–Ekeremor and Bayelsa West, especially as momentum begins to gather around party structures and grassroots influence ahead of the next electoral cycle.
