BREAKING: Garson Okegbe Brisibe Inaugurated as Chairman of Azatitor Community, Thousands Celebrate New Leadership

Azatitor Community in Egbemo Clan, Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State witnessed a historic moment on monday, July 20, 2026, as Comrade Garson Okegbe Brisibe was officially inaugurated as the new Chairman of the Azatitor Federated Communities.
The inauguration marked the beginning of a new administration expected to drive peace, unity, and sustainable development across the riverine community.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, a video now circulating on social media captured the newly inaugurated chairman leading a jubilant procession through major parts of Azatitor alongside members of his executive council, supporters, youths, women, and community leaders. The celebratory march was widely interpreted by residents as a public demonstration of acceptance and overwhelming support for the new leadership.
Residents lined the roads, cheering and congratulating the chairman as songs of celebration filled the atmosphere, signaling what many described as the dawn of a new chapter for the community.
Community members expressed confidence that Brisibe’s leadership would promote inclusiveness, strengthen unity among stakeholders, and accelerate development projects that would improve the welfare of the people.
Many described his emergence as the collective decision of the people and a mandate to serve with transparency, accountability, and dedication.
One resident said the inauguration represented “the beginning of a new era for Azatitor,” expressing hope that the administration would bring lasting peace and meaningful progress.
Another supporter declared that the massive turnout and jubilant procession reflected the confidence the people have reposed in the new chairman to move the community forward.
Azatitor is a recognized settlement in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and appears in official electoral records of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), affirming its status as an established community within the state.
Community stakeholders also acknowledged the role played by traditional institutions and outgoing community leadership in ensuring a peaceful transition.
Records indicate that the previous community administration led by CDC Chairman Comrade Ebiye Shopboy and Youth President Joseph Zeimobogha completed the tenure that ran from July 20, 2024, to July 20, 2026, following an earlier vote of confidence by the Chiefs Council and Elders Council under the leadership of His Royal Highness Robinson Demeoru (Angiri III), Amananawei of Azatitor Community.
With the successful inauguration of Comrade Garson Okegbe Brisibe, residents say attention must now shift from celebration to governance, urging the new administration to prioritize infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, security, and community development.
