Electricity: Residents appeal to PHCN to restore power

Yenagoa–Some people living and doing business in the Tombia – Amassoma road (honnihills street) have appealed to the power holding company of Nigeria in Bayelsa  State to come to their aid in restoring power back to the area.

 Some of the business persons who spoke to Tarakiri voice said they have not seen power for almost a year, adding that it has negatively affected their business, because they spend about N1500 –N2000 for fuel to operate their business  everyday.

On this part , the PHCN committee chairman in the area , Mr Joseph Eniyezor , said   they have reported the faulty transformer to PHCN severally but are yet to get any response .

He said , in time past residents and the committee we have solely contributed over N500,000 for the maintenance and repairing of the 500KV transformer because PHCN has refused to take up responsibility.

According to Mr Eniyezor in the resent incident of criminal vandalizing have made it difficult for the committee  to come up with funds to repair it.

Our correspondent visited the Bayelsa  state Zonal office of PHCN they decline and referred to their head office in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
