Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has expressed his expectations for forward Marcus Rashford, indicating that the player will remain sidelined until he demonstrates a return to the high standards that the club demands.
Marcus Rashford, who has been a crucial player for United in the past, has notably been left out of the match-day squads for the last three consecutive games, including high-stakes clashes against fierce rivals Manchester City, as well as Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth.
This decision has raised eyebrows among fans and analysts alike, as Rashford has been a pivotal figure in the squad.
Amorim, addressing the situation at a press conference, conveyed his willingness to keep Rashford out of the lineup until the player rectifies his current form.
“When I feel that it is the right moment, I will make changes,” he stated. “Until then, my focus will remain on what is best for the team’s overall performance and success.”
The manager emphasized his open lines of communication with Marcus Rashford, sharing that they discuss his performance daily. “I speak with him every day, not necessarily about the interview or public opinion, but about what he can do to improve,” Amorim revealed.
“This is my decision, and I take full responsibility for it. Rashford is eager to play, and I can see that he is making an effort. Nonetheless, it’s ultimately my choice, and I must operate according to my principles and vision for the team.
“This is the only way I know how to lead. If I deviate from it, I risk losing my way, and that’s something I cannot allow to happen. I am confident in the decisions I make.”
