The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) and Tomba Resources Nigeria Limited (TRNL), has commenced the NC-HCD Provision of Automated Crude Oil Storage Tanks Upgrade and Repair Services Training Programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The capacity development initiative is aimed at equipping Nigerian professionals with specialised technical skills required for the upgrade, maintenance, and repair of automated crude oil storage tank systems, while advancing local content development in the nation’s oil and gas industry.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), the Board’s General Manager, Human Capacity Development, Ms. Alexis Emelle, reaffirmed NCDMB’s unwavering commitment to building a highly skilled indigenous workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of the petroleum sector.
She encouraged participants to remain disciplined, dedicated, and fully engaged throughout the training, stressing that the programme presents a valuable opportunity to acquire industry-relevant technical competencies that will enhance their careers and contribute to Nigeria’s energy sector.
Representatives of Chevron Nigeria Limited and Tomba Resources Nigeria Limited also reiterated their commitment to human capital development through strategic collaboration with NCDMB. They noted that the training aligns with the objectives of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act by strengthening local expertise and increasing indigenous participation in specialised oil and gas operations.
The event featured a comprehensive technical overview of the training programme, an interactive engagement with participants, and the signing of the NCDMB Code of Conduct, aimed at promoting professionalism, accountability, and ethical standards throughout the exercise.
The training was officially declared open, marking another significant milestone in NCDMB’s sustained efforts to deepen Nigerian Content, develop local technical capacity, and position indigenous professionals for greater participation in critical segments of the country’s oil and gas value chain.
The Board said the initiative underscores its continued partnership with industry stakeholders to drive sustainable human capital development and enhance in-country technical capabilities in line with national content objectives.
