By Victor Akan

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have rescued a seven-year-old girl, Mercy Akande, who was recently abducted in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Odutola stated that the girl was rescued at Ayetoro town in Ogun State.

Odutola said the girl was rescued by the police anti-kidnapping team, led by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo.

“The suspects who abducted the innocent girl were also arrested in the course of rescuing the victim,” she said.

Odutola added that the suspects, while holding the girl captive, demanded ransom from her parents.

Odutola, however, gave no further information on the suspects, and the ransom demanded.
