Edo Diasporan Group presents Development Plan to Monday Okpebholo
Ahead of the governorship inauguration, holding tomorrow in Benin City, the Edo State capital, a group of indigenes and wives of Edo men, who reside and work in overseas countries, have presented to Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor-elect of the state, a development blueprint of remittances, projects and other services, which they intend to initiate and execute for the people of the state.
The blueprint was presented by Mr. Goddy Francis Okoyo (GFO), a Canadian-based Chartered Accountant and Behavioral Scientist, who served as Director of the Diaspora Committee of the Edo State Governorship Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr. Okoyo, while submitting the 46-page document, asserted that Edo people and Senator Okpebholo deserved their support.
He thanked the chairman of the blueprint draft committee, Dr. Ehiamen Osazua, executives and other members of the diaspora campaign committee and others, for a job-well-done and for assisting the election of Senator Okpebholo and Hon Dennis Idahosa, his deputy.
Senator Okpebholo, who received the blueprint, commended Mr. Okoyo and his executive members and others for their support for his election, and again for their avowed commitment to further support his elected government, urging other Diasporans to follow suit.
He also assured the rapid development of the state and to make life more meaningful to the people
The Okoyo-led Diaspora campaign committee, it could be said, had consistently mobilized their kinds, having severally visited the state from their various oversea residences, during and after the electioneering, to mobilize resources and the people to support the cause.
The blueprint, Mr. Okoyo further said, covered areas such as increased home-bound remittances, investments in infrastructure, business, education, Agriculture, Health, entertainment and others.
