Sheikh Gumi Predicts Future Muslim U.S. President After Mamdani’s Historic NYC Victory

Renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has predicted that Muslims will one day ascend to the highest office in the United States—the White House—as president.
Gumi made the statement while reacting to the recent electoral victory of Uganda-born politician, Adnan Mamdani, who made history as the first Muslim to be elected Mayor of New York City.
The cleric described Mamdani’s triumph as “a sign of changing times,” noting that global perceptions about Muslims are evolving as more Muslims demonstrate excellence, leadership, and inclusivity in public service.
> “The world is gradually embracing diversity, and the Muslim community is gaining recognition not for extremism, but for contributions to justice, governance, and humanity,” Gumi said. “Soon, we will witness a Muslim in the White House.”
He emphasized that Mamdani’s victory should inspire young Muslims across the world to engage actively in politics, governance, and civic responsibility.
Gumi, known for his outspoken views on national and global affairs, added that representation of Muslims in leadership positions around the world will continue to rise as long as they uphold values of peace, tolerance, and service.
Mamdani’s election as New York City’s mayor marks a significant milestone in American political history, signaling what many observers see as a growing acceptance of religious and cultural diversity in one of the world’s most influential democracies.
