BREAKING: Tarakirivoice Prediction Comes True as ADC Names Amaechi Atiku’s Running Mate for 2027

By Passman Akpos

Abuja, Nigeria – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially named former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election, setting the stage for a high-profile partnership with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The announcement was made on Monday in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, and published on the ADC’s official X page.

According to the party, Amaechi emerged as the preferred vice-presidential candidate after extensive consultations with stakeholders across the country and following the conclusion of the party’s presidential primary election, where he reportedly finished as runner-up.

“The National Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is proud to announce that the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been selected as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of our great party for the 2027 Presidential Election,” the statement read.

Atiku-Amaechi Ticket Takes Shape

The ADC described the Atiku-Amaechi combination as a powerful alliance capable of challenging the ruling establishment and addressing Nigeria’s deepening economic and security concerns.

“The proposed partnership between His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi represents more than a political alliance; it is the coming together of two tested statesmen with the experience, national reach, and leadership capacity required to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges,” the party stated.

Party leaders argued that the pairing offers a balance of northern and southern political influence while bringing together decades of governance experience.

Amaechi’s Experience Highlighted

The ADC highlighted Amaechi’s extensive political résumé, noting that he has served in both legislative and executive capacities at the highest levels.

Amaechi previously served as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor of Rivers State for two terms, and later Minister of Transportation under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Few political leaders in Nigeria today possess such extensive and balanced experience across both the legislative and executive arms of government,” the statement noted.

The party further emphasized that Amaechi’s influence in the South-South region and across Southern Nigeria would significantly strengthen the presidential ticket’s national appeal.

“Together, Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi embody a truly national ticket—one that bridges regions, generations, and political traditions,” the ADC declared.

“The ADC is prepared to govern, prepared to unite the nation, and prepared to deliver results.”Social Media Speculations Become Reality

The announcement appears to validate weeks of intense political speculation following a private meeting between Atiku and Amaechi in Abuja that sparked widespread debate across social media.

As earlier reported by Tarakirivoice, Atiku had disclosed details of the meeting on his social media platforms, describing Amaechi as “my brother and compatriot” and revealing that discussions focused on Nigeria’s worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and the need for patriotic leaders to collaborate in finding solutions.

“This afternoon, I visited my brother and compatriot, former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, at his Abuja residence,” Atiku wrote at the time.

“Beyond the warmth and camaraderie, we had deep and honest conversations about the troubling state of our nation, the growing economic pain, insecurity, and the urgent responsibility on patriotic Nigerians to continue engaging in the search for solutions that can rescue our country from drift and despair.”

The meeting immediately triggered speculation about a possible Atiku-Amaechi alliance ahead of the 2027 elections, with supporters openly urging the former Vice President to select the former Rivers governor as his running mate.

Political observers now view the ADC’s latest announcement as a significant step in the opposition’s efforts to build a formidable coalition capable of mounting a serious challenge in 2027.

Opposition Coalition Gains Momentum

The ADC expressed confidence that the Atiku-Amaechi partnership would strengthen its growing coalition and provide Nigerians with what it described as a credible alternative focused on economic recovery, job creation, security, and national unity.

With both men commanding substantial political influence across different regions of the country, analysts believe the ticket could reshape early calculations ahead of the 2027 presidential race and intensify competition among Nigeria’s major political blocs.

As preparations for the election gradually gather pace, the Atiku-Amaechi alliance is expected to remain a major talking point in the country’s evolving political landscape.
