“Choose Ogbere or Hand Victory to NDC” — APC Stakeholders Send Strong Warning to Governor Douye Diri

Strong political arguments are mounting in favor of Ogbere as the most strategic candidate for the APC ticket in Ekeremor Constituency 3, with supporters urging Governor Douye Diri and party leaders to carefully consider his candidacy ahead of the forthcoming elections.
According to party loyalists and grassroots stakeholders, Ogbere represents the kind of tested political strength needed to secure victory for the party and protect the Prosperity Agenda in Bayelsa West.
They argue that elections are most meaningful when multiple candidates are allowed to contest, giving the people real choices and strengthening democratic values. However, they insist that strategic political decisions must go beyond popularity and focus on loyalty, capacity, and electoral advantage.
One of the major reasons cited is Ogbere’s unwavering loyalty to Governor Diri and the Prosperity Government. Despite being related by marriage to Senator Seriake Dickson, widely regarded as a major opposition force in Bayelsa politics, Ogbere reportedly chose to align fully with Governor Diri’s leadership and defected to the APC.
Supporters described this move as a bold political sacrifice that demonstrated personal conviction, trust, and commitment to the governor’s vision above family political ties.
“This kind of loyalty should not be ignored. It shows he is ready to defend and advance the Prosperity Agenda at all costs,” a party stakeholder stated.
They also stressed that this is not a time for political experimentation, especially with the opposition NDC believed to be growing stronger and more united in Bayelsa West.
According to them, Ogbere is seen as a tested political figure with proven capacity and the ability to withstand opposition pressure, unlike other aspirants who may present electoral uncertainty.
“Ogbere is not an experimental option. He is a major aspirant with visible strength, structure, and influence. If not Ogbere, who else?” one supporter asked.
Another factor working in his favor is his unique ward advantage. Among APC aspirants, Ogbere is said to be the only major contender from Ward 12, giving him a strategic edge as stakeholders from the ward are expected to strongly defend and protect their representation.
Being from Egbemo-Angalabiri, described as one of the highest vote-producing areas in the constituency, he is also believed to command strong grassroots support capable of influencing the final outcome.
Political observers note that elections are ultimately won through numbers, structure, and loyalty, and Ogbere’s local acceptance and strategic positioning may place him ahead of many contenders.
Supporters insist that backing him is not merely about rewarding loyalty but about making the smartest political decision to strengthen APC’s chances of victory, maintain party stability, and sustain Governor Diri’s Prosperity Agenda.
“As always, we ask: if not Ogbere, who else? His capacity is from above. He remains the only major aspirant that can help us achieve our desired dreams,” another loyalist declared.
