Clem Agba condoles with Senator Owie on wife’s death

By Victor Akan

Immediate past minister of state for budget and national planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has condoled with a former chief whip of the Senate, Rowland Owie, on the death of his wife, Lady Helen Owie (LSJI).

Lady Helen died in a brief illness in Abuja on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, according to a statement by her husband

In a letter of condolence to Senator Owie, dated April 09, 2025, Prince Agba expressed sadness over Lady Helen’s passing.

His letter reads: “I received with sadness the news of the death of your beloved wife and matriarch of the Owie family, Lady Helen Owie (LSJI), in a brief illness in Abuja on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

“Her death at 71 has diminished the tribe of loving mothers, God-fearing women, and good home-builders, all of which she exemplified in the over 50 years of playing the Biblical role of helpmeet to you.

“In your moment of grief, you profoundly captured her virtues in a way no one else could have done in a statement you personally issued to announce her transition-with the best tribute ever.

“I pray that the Almighty God would, in His infinite mercy, comfort you and give you the strength to bear this great loss of a dependable spouse, whose life was “a testament to humility, kindness, and enduring service” as you rightly avowed.

“On behalf of the entire Agba family of Uneme-Uzanu, I commiserate with you, your children, grandchildren and members of your extended family on the transition to glory of a woman who built the foundation of your family and nurtured the home with her “quiet strength and abiding faith.”

“Rest assured of our prayers for the repose of her soul in the Bosom of her Creator.

“Distinguished Senator, it is well with you and yours.”
