War in the Niger Delta! Daniel Ezekiel Unleashes Explosive Attack on Oporoza House, Fires Fresh Salvo at PAP Leadership

.....Describes Oporoza House as "A Body of Vultures and Highly Diabolical Men" Amid Escalating Public Feud

By Passman Akpos

A fresh war of words has erupted within Niger Delta circles as activist Daniel Ezekiel launched a blistering response to Abraye Freedom, dismissing allegations of blackmail and accusing his critic of spreading falsehoods to please unnamed interests at Oporoza House.

In a lengthy statement, Ezekiel described Oporoza House as “a body of vultures and highly diabolical men,” alleging that Abraye Freedom was acting on behalf of “paymasters” in an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

Responding to claims surrounding his 2016 arrest, Ezekiel insisted that the incident was directly connected to his role as National Spokesperson of the Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI) during the period when High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, was declared wanted by the Federal Government.

According to him, he publicly campaigned for the release of Tompolo’s associate, Simeon Bebenimbo, after his arrest by the military, an action he claimed attracted retaliation that eventually led to his own arrest and detention by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Ezekiel further maintained that his release was secured through advocacy by civil society groups and activists, including Amnesty International, PANDEF, Comrade Austin Ozobo and others, rejecting claims that any political figure negotiated his freedom.

He also dismissed assertions that he was imprisoned at Kirikiri Prison, insisting that he was detained in DSS custody in Abuja. He referenced previous media reports and photographs taken after his release as evidence supporting his account.

The activist also denied accusations that he had been pressuring the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for personal financial benefits or business opportunities.

To support his position, Ezekiel claimed that several prominent figures, including Otuaro and other Niger Delta stakeholders, had placed calls to him in recent months which he deliberately chose not to answer. According to him, his refusal to engage demonstrated that he was not seeking financial favours.

He maintained that his criticism of the Presidential Amnesty Programme was based on principle rather than personal interest, arguing that the programme’s ₦115 billion budget should translate into improved welfare for ex-agitators through an increase in monthly stipends.

Ezekiel also addressed past political activities, saying he had no regrets over stepping down for Chief Sheriff Mulade during a previous political contest, while alleging that political agreements were later abandoned.

Throughout the statement, the activist repeatedly defended his credibility, insisting that his advocacy has always been driven by fairness, objectivity and commitment to the Niger Delta struggle.

The exchange has intensified ongoing debates within Niger Delta political and advocacy circles, with supporters of both figures taking opposing positions across social media.

As of the time of filing this report, Abraye Freedom had not publicly responded to Ezekiel’s latest allegations.
