New Power Bloc? IYC Names 12-Member Transition Committee Ahead of Leadership Handover

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has officially announced the constitution of a Transition Committee to oversee and coordinate the organization’s transition process.
According to a statement signed by the President of the IYC Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, the committee has been tasked with ensuring a transparent, orderly, and successful transition while working closely with the National Executive Council (NEC).
Leading the committee is Hon. Alfred Kemepado, who will serve as Chairman, while Dr. Freedom Atigbi has been appointed Co-Chairman.
Other members of the committee include Rt. Hon. Allen Gabriel Tomoni, Dr. Charles Ikimi, Perekosufa Ineife, Prince Iwefa Aganaba, Doubra Wuruyai, Hon. Abi Morris Bako, Johnmartins Ijere, Ms. Ebiere Keyagha, and Kalizibe Joseph. Bright Egelu will serve as the Secretary of the committee.
The statement noted that the committee is expected to carry out its responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and commitment while maintaining close collaboration with the National Executive Council throughout the transition process.
It further stated that during its inaugural meeting, the committee will establish the necessary sub-committees to facilitate the effective execution of its mandate and ensure a seamless transition within the organization.
The IYC leadership congratulated all members of the committee on their appointments and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on the assignment.
The announcement comes at a critical period for the Ijaw Youth Council, as stakeholders across the Ijaw nation continue to monitor developments within the organization and anticipate a peaceful and credible transition process.
