“Where Are The Powers?” — Apostle Daniel Challenges Tompolo: “Money, Power, Occult And Connections Couldn’t Deliver” As Almighty God Overrules Tantita Contract Renewal, Otuaro Reappointment Bid

By Passman Akpos

Apostle Ezekiel Daniel has declared that what he described as the “spiritual empire” surrounding Niger Delta businessman and former militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has collapsed under what he considers the supreme authority of God.

Daniel, in a strongly worded statement, anchored his argument on Psalm 115, which describes idols made of silver and gold as powerless objects fashioned by human hands.

According to him, the biblical passage portrays such idols as having mouths that cannot speak, eyes that cannot see, ears that cannot hear, hands that cannot feel and feet that cannot walk.

He argued that the passage carries a broader warning against placing confidence in objects, rituals or spiritual powers that, in his view, cannot exercise genuine authority over human affairs.

‘Why Did The Spiritual Network Fail?’

Daniel subsequently turned his attention to Tompolo, alleging that the Niger Delta figure had placed confidence in occult practices and influenced vulnerable youths through traditional spiritual beliefs.

He further alleged that practitioners, herbalists and other spiritualists were brought from different parts of the world to Oporoza for spiritual activities.

Tarakirivoice cannot independently verify these allegations. Tompolo and representatives of the Oporoza community were not quoted in the statement as responding to Daniel’s claims.

The central question raised by Daniel was why, despite what he described as Tompolo’s extensive spiritual and political networks, his alleged objectives concerning the renewal of the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited surveillance contract and the continuation of Dennis Otuaro as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme did not materialise.

Daniel interpreted those developments as evidence that political influence, financial resources and spiritual practices cannot determine outcomes that are ultimately subject to God’s authority.

‘Absolute Power Belongs To God’

The cleric invoked several biblical accounts, including the parting of the Red Sea, the provision of manna to the Israelites and the biblical account of Moses’ rod before Pharaoh.

He argued that these stories demonstrate what he described as God’s absolute sovereignty over human beings and earthly authorities.

Referencing Exodus 9:12, Daniel compared the biblical account of Pharaoh’s hardened heart with what he described as President Bola Tinubu’s resistance to the interests of Tompolo and the wider Oporoza establishment.

He characterized the situation as a divine judgment, saying the “Rose of Sharon” had hardened the President’s heart against the “house of Oporoza.”

‘Money And Connections Cannot Change The Outcome’

Daniel further alleged that significant financial resources, foreign currency and political connections had been deployed by Tompolo’s network in pursuit of its objectives.

He claimed, however, that the efforts had failed to secure the outcomes he attributed to the network—particularly the renewal of Tantita’s contract and the reappointment of Dennis Otuaro.

According to the cleric, the development demonstrates that human influence cannot override what he regards as God’s sovereign will.He described the situation as a warning against relying on wealth, political connections or spiritual practices instead of God.

A Contentious Spiritual And Political Claim

Daniel’s statement comes amid continuing public debate over political influence, the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Niger Delta leadership and the future of oil surveillance contracts in the region.

His interpretation, however, remains a religious and personal assertion, rather than an independently established explanation for government decisions concerning Tantita or the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Ultimately, Daniel maintained that the developments surrounding Tompolo and Oporoza constitute, in his view, a demonstration that “absolute power belongs to God alone.”

He concluded that no amount of money, political maneuvering or alleged spiritual intervention can prevail against what he considers the sovereign will of the Almighty.
