18 Days After Surgery, Influencer’s Life Cut Short in Heartbreaking Twist

By Passman Akpos

A 27-year-old Brazilian social media influencer, Bianca Dias, has reportedly died following complications linked to a recent cosmetic surgery, sparking renewed concerns about post-surgical risks associated with major procedures.

According to TMZ, Dias suffered a pulmonary embolism while recovering at her family’s residence near São Paulo after experiencing sudden shortness of breath. She was rushed to hospital, but doctors were unable to save her.

Her death was confirmed by close friend Giovanna Borges, who revealed on Instagram that Dias also experienced two seizures before arriving at the hospital.

“Bia had surgery, and in recovery at home, she had a pulmonary clot, had two seizures, and when she arrived at the hospital, she was no longer alive,” Borges wrote in an emotional post.

Reports indicate that the influencer died just 18 days after undergoing the procedure, although the exact type of surgery has not been publicly disclosed.

Dias had built a growing online presence through lifestyle and modelling content, attracting nearly 60,000 followers. Her last post, shared on December 18, featured a selfie taken inside a car in São Paulo.

Tributes have continued to pour in across social media since the announcement of her passing. Massage therapist and close friend Jeff Carlos described her death as deeply painful, writing, “Death is nothing at all. Our bond has not been broken.”

Another friend and content creator, Patrícia Ganden, also shared a heartfelt tribute, remembering Dias for her warmth and vibrant personality.

Medical experts note that pulmonary embolism—often caused by blood clots—is a known but rare risk associated with major surgeries, particularly during the recovery period when mobility may be reduced.

Dias’ sudden death has prompted renewed discussions online about the importance of post-surgery monitoring and awareness of potential complications.
